5 Ways to Use Argan Oil

Argan oil is still an enigma to many people.  Though argan oil is gaining popularity in the beauty industry, there are still a number of people who don't know what this all-natural moisturizer is or how to take advantage of the oil's benefits.  In this instructional eight minute video we attempt to demystify argan oil by discussing five ways in which you can use the product as a treatment to alleviate dry skin, acne, chapped lips, damaged cuticles, and oily, shiny skin.

Use #1: Face Moisturizer

Because argan oil is packed with vitamin e and essential fatty acids, it works extremely well as a standalone moisturizer.  It is light, non-greasy and absorbs easily into the skin.  If you are new to using argan oil on your skin, then it is a good idea to initially test the product at night before going to bed.  It will take a little time for your skin to adjust to this all-natural product, but your complexion will improve and your skin will feel noticeably softer.  A little argan oil goes a very long way.  Use 1-2 drops to moisturize and nourish skin.

Use #2:  Soften Chapped Lips

If you have tried practically every lip balm out there and you're still suffering from chapped lips, then you may want to consider using pure argan oil.  Many lip balms contain petroleum, which doesn't absorb well into the skin.  Argan oil, on the other hand, nourishes instantly and promotes the healing of dry, cracked lips.  Simply rub one drop of argan oil between the fingertips and gently apply to dry lips.  With regular use, you will notice a vast improvement in the look and feel of your lips.

Use #3: Promote Healing of Acne

If you "pop a zit" without properly treating the wound after, then your skin becomes highly susceptible to scarring.  Minimize the appearance of scars by applying a drop of argan oil to healing wounds.

Use #4: Control Oily Skin

Drying out your skin only causes your body to overcompensate and produce more oil than needed.  This leads to more acne breakouts and the dreaded "shiny face."  Avoid an oily, shiny complexion by regularly using pure argan oil as a moisturizer.  Regular application of 1-2 drops of argan oil will keep your skin properly moisturized while keeping your body from overproducing oil or sebum.

Use #5: Soften Cuticles

If you wash your hands regularly, you may suffer from damaged cuticles or annoyingly painful hangnails.  Applying a drop or two of argan oil to the fingertips is an effective way to keep your cuticles soft while decreasing the likelihood of getting hangnails.

My Daily Argan Oil Skin Care Routine: A Preventive Approach to Achieving Great Skin

Pure argan oil can be used to relieve a number of skin issues including dryness, acne, psoriasis, eczema, wrinkles, inflammation, and excessive oil production.  While argan oil is effective at alleviating such skin conditions, I also tend to use Beta Naturals 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil Moisturizer as a way to help prevent skin problems from occurring.  Here's a simple breakdown of my daily skin care routine using argan oil:

When it comes to skin care, starting my day off on the right foot is very important.  If I leave the house with my face feeling dry or irritated, chances are that I will feel self-conscious or grumpy throughout the day.  Immediately after shaving I usually apply a few drops of argan oil on my face to soothe any razor burn or irritation resulting from the shave.  I prefer using argan oil over traditional store-bought post-shave products as many of the mass-market aftershave balms and splashes tend to contain synthetic ingredients and fragrances that can aggravate sensitive or problem skin.  Ladies, you can apply the same approach after shaving your legs, underarms, and other areas.

Now that you've conquered the day with confidence (thanks to your newly-nourished, revitalized skin), be sure to moisturize in the evening before going to bed.  After using a mild liquid face wash (preferably made with natural ingredients), I typically apply a few drops of argan oil on my face to properly nourish the skin while I sleep.  Don't forget about the eyes - the skin around the eyes does not produce enough oil on its own to keep the area firm and youthful.  Gently apply 2-3 drops of argan oil to the area around your eyes (eyelids, under the eyes, crows feet, etc.).  Spread the oil by lightly tapping around the eyes with your fingertips.  Whatever you do, avoid rubbing your eyes as the skin around them is fragile.  Rubbing your eyes can contribute to the forming of bags and wrinkles.

Repeat this routine daily and you should notice an improvement in how your skin looks and feels over time.

Note: if you already have a moisturizer/after shave balm that you love, optimize its performance by adding and mixing in 10 drops of argan oil.

If you have additional ways to implement Beta Naturals 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil into your daily skin care routine, please share them with us.  We'd love to hear from you!
